Waist size
Check your waist and know where things stand
Scales cannot tell you where fat sits, a tape measure round the waist can. Take the measurement, then check it against World Health Organization cut-offs.
Measure your waist
Everything is worked out on your own device. No data is stored or transmitted. Adults only.

Which waist measurements are a concern?
Woman
- Under 80 cmNo increased risk
- 80 to 87 cmIncreased risk
- 88 cm and overSubstantially increased risk
Man
- Under 94 cmNo increased risk
- 94 to 101 cmIncreased risk
- 102 cm and overSubstantially increased risk
Stand up and measure once you have breathed out, midway between the bottom rib and the top of the hip bone, with the tape lying flat and not squeezed.
Fat stored around the belly does the most to push up the risk of diabetes and heart disease. Waist size is how that fat gets tracked.
